Autumn Statement Offers Nothing for Nottingham

Nothing in yesterday’s Autumn Statement will improve people’s quality of life after 13  years of Conservative economic failure.

They have increased taxes on working people 25 time since 2019 with households paying £4,000 more in tax each year than they did in 2010, on top of paying more for food, energy and housing. At the same time they have slashed funding to essential public services with Nottingham City Council receiving £100 million less every year since 2013 while demand for adult and children’s social care and support for homelessness continues to rise. The Conservatives are the party of making people pay more for less.

We need a general election sooner rather than later so we can get in a Labour Government that will tackle to cost of living crisis and rebuild the public services we all rely on.
